Mother’s Day Reunion Wedding

I just purchased my tickets to Jacksonville, Florida for an upcoming family gathering! We haven’t gathered… ever. The occasion? My oldest younger cousin is getting married and it’s turning into a real Hillbilly Holiday! Everyone who is still alive on my mom’s side of the family will be there! Yay! It will be super exciting to see all the people I never talk to! Mostly, I think I am super pumped to re-connect with the redneck blood that runs through my veins. Thank Hank Williams there’s gonna be an open bar.
The wedding will be taking place over Mother’s Day weekend. Very clever, since if it wasn’t so important for my mommy that I attend, I would have just taken a rain check for the Family/Stranger Picnic and stayed in New York City. My cousin is getting married on St. Simon Island in Georgia (flying into Florida to drive to Georgia hurts my brain). I am told that the island is very beautiful. Heaven is probably beautiful too, but I’m not in a rush to see it.
At least this wedding gives me a reason to buy a new dress.
Jeffrey, you are going to have such a good time eating alligator, participating in a hotdog catching contest, drinking to much, dancing the watermelon crawl, cutting off lizard tails and watching them wiggle around, chasing armadillos, listening to lots of country/western music, deer hunting (by putting deer urine on yourself)and most of all see that my dad and brothers and I all love each other very much! Love you!
